A. Again, I have never done anything with the Cycom on a Virago, but I understand it can be repaired so the display will work. Here's a comment from the Virago Tech forum that was posted by Keeton

"The LCD Cycom on the 82's does not have potentiometers to adjust the contrast when it goes dim. The reason it goes dim is because the sun hitting the polarized film too long (this problem is more likely to happen in a place like Florida where I am). Polarized film can be bought in several places on the internet or maybe a store that does LCD repair. I took apart a few old cell phones and separated the film from the lenses and glued them over the tach, speedo and warning indicators. My display shows up perfectly no matter how the sun hits it."
